Social Enterprise in Camden
VAC is running a Social Enterprise Service. The project is funded by Camden and provided intensive support to 20 organisations in 2007. It includes training and advice in, for example, registering as a Community Interest Company and developing a business plan or a marketing strategy.
Are you thinking in starting a social enterprise? Whatever your starting point, there are some basic questions you need to ask yourself about your idea for a new social enterprise, your personal aims and your social enterprise skills and know-how. Think about your reasons for wanting to run your own social enterprise.
Is running a social enterprise for you?
- How will the project benefit the community?
- What will be your source of income?
- Have you experience this field already?
- What risks are involved?
- Who will your clients be?
- Is your project financially viable?
- Is there a market for your product or service?
- How much demand will there be for your product or service?
- Who your target customers are in terms of age, gender, location, profession and income?
- How you will reach your target customers?
- Who are your competitors?
Where to get support? Come along to one of the VAC training sessions or give us a call: Voluntary Action Camden provides support to community groups in Camden that are interested in setting up a social enterprise.
