Safeguarding/Child Protection Training 2009
Voluntary Action Camden (VAC), in partnership with Camden Safeguarding Children Board (CSCB), is running a one day Child Protection Training in line with the recommendations of the London Child Protection Committee.
The one-day training event has been designed for all staff working with statutory agencies and voluntary and community organisations that have contact with children through the normal course of their duties.
Course Framework:
This training is based on the NSPCC’s ‘Safeguarding Children – a shared responsibility’, and will use as reference material the Department of Health Guidance ‘What to Do If You Are Worried a Child Is Being Abused’ and ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’
Aims and Objectives:
At the end of this training event participants will:
- Recognise risk factors and identify situations where there may be concerns for the safety of children within Camden
- Have a clear understanding of what to do when they have concerns about a child's welfare
- Be able to work as part of a multi-agency or multi-disciplinary team in line with ‘Working Together’ and the ‘Assessment framework’
- Be clear of their roles and responsibilities during assessment, planning, intervention and reviewing processes for children in need, including those requiring safeguarding
- Understand the statutory requirements governing consent, confidentiality and information sharing and how to apply these in relation to a particular child about whom they have concerns.
Venue & Time:
Please note that the training scheduled for the 17th December 2008 has been cancelled.
