Quality Assurance Support
Recently, growing attention has been paid to the need for Voluntary & Community Organisations to be able to demonstrate convincingly their capacity and quality, for example to their customers, to local commissioners and other funders. This has sharpened the need for a recognised quality mark for the voluntary and community sector based on known standards.
Accordingly, Voluntary Action Camden (VAC) is putting on a ‘Quality Assurance’ surgery every quarter to support the Voluntary & Community Sector organisations in Camden. Organisations or groups will be allocated one hour with a key member of staff to discuss on how to embed Quality Assurance in all areas of their work and will touch on the development of a Quality Assurance Policy or Frameworkfor the organisation. It will also touch on the quality marks available in the sector at the moment such as PQASSO, NAVCA, Matrix, VISIBLE and IIP and which are recognised by funders and commissioners.
For more information on the Quality Assurance surgery dates, please check the Training page.

PQASSO:
Practical Quality Assurance System for Small Organisations
Voluntary Action Camden in conjunction with the CLCVS network has been supporting community and voluntary organisation in Camden to implement a quality assurance system for small organisations. The project has been funded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and the European Social Fund (ESF).
What is PQASSO?
PQASSO is CES' practical quality assurance system for small organisations, or for projects within larger organisations. It's a low-cost, straightforward quality system, written in plain English and designed specifically for voluntary sector organisations.
PQASSO provides a flexible, step-by-step approach to working out what your organisation is doing well and what could be improved. By using the self-assessment work pack, the system helps you to set priorities for your organisation's future and improve your organisation's performance.
Organisations in Camden are successfully Implementing PQASSO.
Congratulations to the organisations who have successfully implemented PQASSO. The Self-Assessment Programme, funded by the LSC and the ESF, has been very successful in Camden with 23 organisations currently taking part.
The organisations taking part have proved the quality of the services that Camden organisations provide. Our congratulations to all of them for the hard work and effort they have put into the programme.
“PQASSO … has given adults with learning disability a better understanding and insight into how the organisation operates. We are now able to provide prospective funders with better applications and provide better monitoring information”. Camden People First - John Siddique
