A Long Term Premises Strategy for Camden?
A new voluntary and community sector partnership in Camden, called Active & Sustainable Communities has been successful in securing funding from central government to carry out a pilot study in to how to effectively support black and minority ethnic and disability groups to secure access to affordable premises. By June of this year the project will have identified a schedule of suitable premises and groups interested in taking part in the pilot. The aim is to secure possession of two affordable and sustainable premises that will be owned and managed by the groups and their respective communities. The partnership “Active & Sustainable Camden” is made up of Disability in Camden, Camden Community Central Umbrella, Camden Volunteer Bureau, Camden Training Network, the Black & Minority Ethnic Alliance and Voluntary Action Camden.
