Community Nurseries
The Community Nurseries Partnership brings together senior staff from local community nurseries to promote the role and value of community nurseries in the provision of affordable, high quality, community-based childcare in Camden. Membership is open to all community nurseries in Camden.
Members meet monthly to share information on the rapidly changing childcare environment and to consider the impact and relevance of changes to community nurseries. Joint training for staff also takes place on a regular basis, along with the sharing of news, ideas and good practice across the Partnership.
The Partnership presents the interests of community nurseries to a wide variety of bodies, for instance, actively participating in local debates about issues such as commissioning and initiatives to increase the range and standard of child care provision in the borough.
Network News
Our current agenda is focused on Camden Council’s review of funding awarded by the Culture & Environment Department and funding intentions from April 2011. We are also looking at systems for ensuring timely CRB checks for our members, and at the implementation of new procedures for vetting and barring.
Contact Simone Hensby (as below) for the agenda for future meetings or to find out more about the work of the partnership.
