Children & Families
The Children & Families Network is no longer being facilitated by VAC. Until the spring of 2011 the network was an open forum for organisations in Camden working with children, young people and families. It aimed to support groups to access information and resources to help them deliver high quality services; and to enable the voluntary and community sector to influence how services are planned and provided. An important part of the work of the network co-ordinator was to help voluntary and community sector staff access training on issues of importance for their work, including child safeguarding. Child Safeguarding Training
Safeguarding Training – Level 1
Dates: Thurs 11 August; Tues 13 December. 10am-5pm
This session will increase your understanding of what to do when you have concerns about a child’s welfare. It will cover identifying risk factors involved on the safety of children, working as part of a multi-agency team, sharing information, role responsibilities and how to deal with safeguarding cases and referral procedures. For staff working with statutory agencies and voluntary and community organisations on regular contact with children. Run in partnership with LBC and the Safeguarding Children Board.
Safeguarding Training – Level 2
Dates: Thurs 20 October. 10am-5pm
This training is designed for workers from the voluntary sector who have completed basic training and who would like to increase their skills and knowledge. The trainer will assume a basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection and applicants need to make sure they have completed basic training before proceeding to this course.
