The Camden BME Alliance works to provide a strategic voice for the diverse communities in Camden and to facilitate the involvement of BME community groups in local decision making processes.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Director, who is able to articulate the needs and concerns of local BME communities; to influence at the strategic, policy and community levels, and raise the profile of CBMEA within Camden and London. Applicant needs good working knowledge of Camden’s current priorities.

Workforce Development Worker
NJC SO2 pt32 –34 (£29,246 – £30,773) Children, Young People & Families Services Initially for one year | Plus generous pension
You will undertake outreach to deliver a ‘fit for purpose’ programme for secondary and tertiary category service providers in the field of alcohol and substance misuse. You will also provide ‘information clinics’ and presentations, to enable organisations to assess their skills profile in the areas of commissioning and contracting, the common assessment framework, lead professional and safe recruitment, going on access further training where appropriate.

Project Officer
Sexual Health Peer Education project for Bangladeshi and Somali communities in Camden
Salary Scale: SO2, Point 32, £11,955 pro-rata including London weighting
Hours: 15 hours per week (2 days per week)
VAC, one of London’s leading voluntary and community sector development agencies, is now seeking to recruit a Project Officer for the Sexual Health Peer Education project for Bangladeshi and Somali communities in Camden. The post holder will work with and support the two community groups to develop and implement a research project plan which is engaging young adults to be Peer Educators to raise awareness in sexual health across Camden.
The post holder will need experience in community development, partnership working and some knowledge of sexual health issues among young adults.

Community Accountancy Manager
SO2 £29,246 - £30,773 (pro rata) plus generous pension, 2½ days per week
Voluntary Action Camden (VAC) is recognised as one of the leading development agencies. Following the completion of an independent review, VAC now has some exciting new posts on offer and you will be key to achieving a strategic commitment to growth and excellence in services.
You will be responsible for the management of the Community Accountancy Project, including a team of volunteer accountants and bookkeepers. You will also be responsible for line managing the VAC Accounts Assistant and must have an accountancy qualification, experience of preparing management and statutory accounts and completing Independent Examinations. You will also require extensive experience of using Excel, Sage Payroll and Line 100.
