Duties and Responsibilities. Policy and influence To identify local and strategic issues pertinent to BME communities and voluntary organisations and to develop appropriate strategies to meet them. To build effective working relationships with a variety of people, including those at a senior level in statutory and funding agencies, community groups voluntary organisation and private enterprises. This is in order to influence/negotiate policies and ideas, projects and programmes of benefit to local BME communities. To lobby statutory service departments on behalf of BME communities and voluntary sector to achieve a more appropriate and higher level of service delivery. To service the management committee and to carry out duties arising from the strategic direction, policies and priorities agreed by it. To develop robust policies for the CBMEA. To effectively represent the organisation to external bodies e.g. LSP, Council Partnerships, PCT etc and to ensure quality marketing of its achievements and goals. To ensure that CBMEA contributes to planning, implementation and monitoring arrangements for key strategies affecting BME communities/organisations in public sector bodies. To identify issues and to plan conferences and seminars to tackle and engage debate. Financial / Legal To lead on the planning, development and implementation of the CBMEA Business Plan and Fundraising/Income generation Strategy. To be responsible for undertaking fund-raising to ensure the long term sustainability of the organisation. To oversee the financial procedures and systems. To prepare, along with the organisations treasurer: annual budgets, quarterly financial reports for management committee and to coordinate the production of annual audited accounts that are compatible with relevant company and charity law. To ensure the Organisations compliance with company, charity, employment, fiscal and other legal requirements. To make sure that all monitoring and evaluation requirements of funding bodies is complied and completed Management To recruit, induct, appraise and manage an expanding team.
